Mr. Jospeh George Khoury arrived Sydney Australia in 1970 as an immigrant from North Lebanon.

On the 23rd of April, 1970 Mr. Khoury established El Telegraph Arabic Newspaper. He was also a shareholder in a company called Media Press, a printing company established in Marrickville, Sydney, a company sister of El Telegraph which published many ethnic newspapers.

Sixteen years later, Mr. Joseph Khoury had to leave the El Telegraph Newspaper and established his own newspaper called Al Bairak, after several years he then established the present newspaper which is Al Mestaqbal (The Future) Lebanese Arabic Newspaper.

Since his arrival to Sydney, Mr. Joseph Khoury has been a very active member of the Australian and Lebanese/Arabic Communities, Providing many Services such as establishing a Charity Committee for his own village called Ardeh Charitable Association which he was the President for a period of time.

He was also the president of The World Lebanese Cultural Union, Sydney Branch, also the President of The World Lebanese Cultural Union Geographic, Australia and New Zealand.

He is also one of the founders of the Maronite Catholic Society in Australia.

At present he is the Director of the Miss Lebanon Australia Charitable Association.

Mr. Khoury has received many State Government awards, such as from the Ministry for Police, the Taxation Office, The Department of Fair Trading which The Future Newspaper has a partnership with, The Consulate General of Lebanon, The Australian Lebanese Association Award, The NSW Consumer Protection Award, Bayt Al-Zakat Australia Award, The Leukaemia Foundation Award ,the Maronite Catholic Society Award and The Zghorta Assocation award and many more.

Mr. Joseph Khoury was awarded the Order of Australian Medal with the approval of Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the Governor General of Australia, the Hon. Bill Hayden for being an active member in the Australian Society and in different charitable Organisations.
